tell us your 24 Hour Comics Day stories
If you participated in 24 Hour Comics Day somewhere in the world, tell us about it. It’s a race like the Indy 500; call it the Indy 24 (or Indy 1440, if you want to count the minutes).
My story: On Saturday, 23 April 2005, 70 +/- 2 of us artists and writers here in Austin congregated at Austin Books (http://www.austinbooks.com/) for the 10 a.m. start of 24 Hour Comics Day (http://www.24hourcomics.com/)
Here’s part of what I posted online while the event was going on
/>A brief photo essay of the Day so far…
/>Dave and Brandon of Austin Books announce the start of 24 Hour Comics Day. Austin Books is our host site, and a most wondermous comics shop.
/>Zach does an ink wash on one of the 11” x 14” pages for our story, “A Night in the Badlands.”
/>Shoe has an easel and everything. A strange field around him causes blurred vision.
/>Members and associates of Goathead Pub.
/>It’s only 10-ish in the evening, and already everyone’s 5 o’clock shadow is showing. Litsa, Garrett and Alicia, Les (GoatheadPub.com), and Zach (gnourg.com).
/>Joe (Goathead) is intimidated by John Rubio’s chest hair and mustache./img So tell your story, if you have one. If you don’t have a 24 Hour Comics Day story, tell someone else’s, or promise yourself you’ll participate in next year’s.
