Yee-friggin'-haw: post-Staple thoughts

I’ll echo what a lot of people have already said, namely that yesterday’s Staple! show went really well. Attendance was good, the atmosphere was nice and relaxed, and yes, it really was a party. We’re talkin’ comics and a good time, so here are the exclamation marks:
!!!
Everybody say nice things to Chris Nicholas. Good show, man!

If Sonambulo were around maybe he’d be willing to throw our tired selves over his shoulders like sacks of taters and haul us over to The Hideout for today’s post-post-party, Austin Sketch Group meeting, and general hanging out at The Hideout.

Wow! STAPLE freakin’ RULED! Thanx 4 having us, guys. We had a wicked awesome time. We were really excited about the turnout, and really enjoyed being on the web comix panel.
SW will definitely be there next year!

WOOOOoooooooooo!
Me am tired. STAPLE was awesome.
Pictures soon. I filled up three cards of varying sizes…88 megs (don’t worry I’ll shrink em down and post just the finest of my slightly blurry captures).

Awesome. Everyone I talked to Saturday had a great time.
Chris, it was good to meet you. Toby, you too—can’t wait to see your pictures. We’ll be posting some photos on the main Staple site as well, and I’ll link to your web site or anything anyone else posts here in the forums.

If STAPLE! were a woman, I'd make sweet, sweet love to it.

Man, oh man, what a show! I had a blast coming back to Austin to spread the printed love with my fellow storytellers. Chris, you really pulled a chain-smokin’ rabbit out of the hat with this one. I’ve been really talking up the show to all of the creators I know, telling them this is THE show to do next year.
And to everyone I met this past weekend (I couldn’t possibly name you all!), it was a true pleasure, and it’s nice to know I’ve got some partners-in-crime to come back to next time I’m in Austin.

Thanks so much Chris for all your great words – not to mention the AWESOME mascot you created – you just freakin’ rock dude! And your Dad is cool as hell too! We still lack an “official” name for the mascot but there are already many good suggestions in the hat. I also managed to get a bunch of sketches of him by different artists – look for those to be posted soon.
I’m finally starting to come down from my excitement after the show. I’ll probably be in crash mode for a few days so if I’m not posting much that’s why.

mascot name

We didn’t do the Name the Mascot competition. I’m thinking I’ll go ahead and start a thread, see what happens.
