Getting around Austin

Here’s the link to Capital Metro’s (city bus) website.
/> It’s got a handy trip planner if you know your origin and destination addresses.

Austin-Bergstrom (AUS) Airport Options

The Austin-Bergstrom (AUS) Airport website has a page with transportation options.
http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/austinairport/transportation.htm
On average (based on hotel quotes) from the airport to the venue area hotels costs range from:
Super Shuttle: $10-12
Taxi: $18-25
Bus: $1.00
Only the Holiday Inn-Townlake seems to have a complimentary shuttle.

AMTRAK - Texas Eagle

If you want to travel by train the Amtrak Station (AUS) is serviced by the Texas Eagle –
http://www.texaseagle.com/stations/AUS.htm at 250 N. Lamar Blvd (about 0.8 miles from the venue).
They also have taxi, supershuttle and bus stops.

Greyhound

The Greyhound station is about 7 miles north of the venue. Couldn’t really find a nice site to link to on that, but the address is 916 E Koenig Ln, 78751
I’m guessing there would be city bus routes from there.

If the day happens to be an Ozone Action Day, you can ride the bus for free.

There is indeed a bus route that nearly takes you from the Greyhound stations to the venue itself. If you walk out the back of the Greyhound station to the street behind it (Clayton) and walk left towards the mall you will cross Middle Fiskville. Once you cross Middle Fiskville there should be a sign a short distance on the right side for the #15 Red River – southbound. The #15 will take you downtown and then turn into the #16 S. 5th/Westgate – southbound. It will run right through downtown, cross Town Lake and turn onto Barton Springs. Then it will turn down Bouldin, you should get off at the 3rd street on Bouldin (Retama). Head right onto Retama for one block. You’ll now be at Dawson Rd. The Elks lodge should be roughly one block up to the right. If nothing else, nicely asking the bus driver to let you know when you are coming up on Bouldin and Retama.
