Sharing a table or half-table

The show’s tables are currently sold out. Chris has said there’s no room for more tables, so I’d like to bring up the possibility of sharing tables.
If you haven’t registered a table for the show but would like to exhibit, or if you are an exhibitor and would be willing to share your space, please reply to this post.
Arrangements between the sharer and the sharee are theirs to make. If you have extra space and want to share, cool. If not, don’t worry about it.
I’ve extended an offer to one artist to share my half-table since I’m only showing one comic and my artist cohort likely won’t be able to make the show.
If you’d rather not post here, please contact either Chris or (since he’s keeping quite busy) me. I’ll bring up the topic of sharing tables at tonight’s Staple meeting at Flightpath.

Just came in to sign up for a full table...

Just dropped by the website to sign up for a full table and I see you’re already sold out. :(
If there is [b:13bdad78fd]anyone[/b:13bdad78fd] at all that we can go in with on a table, 1/2, 1/4 of a table whatever, we’ll even pay the full price for it. We were looking forward to this expo quite a lot and it’s a little depressing.
Heck, we’ll even set up on a tiny night-stand or round plant table in a hall or a bathroom if necessary!
Please let us know,
Thanks,
JR Boyens

web site, perhaps?

Some exhibitors might be willing to share a table if your art is similar to theirs. Would you mind posting a link to your website?

Unfortunately we don’t have a website, haven’t really ever tried displaying or selling our art, but it’s artisan jewerly and if there is room we have some other hanging artwork. I’d be willing to send in some photos if needed.
Looking at the current exhibitor list we might be the only non-graphic art shown at the expo. Could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it.
Thanks,
JR Boyens

Hey JR and everyone else who needs a table,
in there. [/i:4fc2df90de]
I’m going to be emailing all the exhibitors and ask them to check here (which I don’t think they do often) to see if they’d be willing to share some space. Hopefully some of those folks will be able to do it and we’ll get even MORE exhibitors at [b:4fc2df90de]STAPLE![/b:4fc2df90de]
For those of you late, unregistered folks who do manage to get in, we probably wont be able to get you linked on our site as we have the others, BUT, you’ll still be there.
There really is NO more room for more tables. The floorplan I did uses as much of the available floor space as I was comfortable using. Had to leave some room for folks to walk around. It’s gonna be cozy.
Even if you wind up not able to get a table I hope you’ll still come out to the show to enjoy the fun and festivities! :D

Help a Brother Out?

Hi. I’m throwing myself at the mercy of those who have tables. Would anyone be willing to share? I’m a painter here in Austin and also an animator working on “A Scanner Darkly”. I’m really trying to get more involved in the art community in Austin and thought this would be a great way to do so. You can check out some of my art at http://www.manlyart.com .
If you like my work and wouldn’t mind sharing a table, I would appreciate it. I play well with others, I don’t bite unless seriously provoked and I don’t smell bad.
Please contact me by e-mail. I check it mornings and evenings.
Thanks,
Jason

hmmm.

me too! me too! i was supposed to get a table for me and my pal mandy. balls! it seems like there’s a lot of people wanting tables. i wonder if there’s some way to make everybody happy. like… shit… squatting outside on blankets outside, hippie craft fair style? chris, is this something that could happen without pissing you off? the last thing i want to do is step on the toes of the people that got this killer-ass con going (long overdue, if you ask me, man). if there was some way to do that and still keep it official, like paying for outside space? or is there room in a parking lot? hmmmm….

I dont understand why you’ve restricted the number of tables!!!! Theres no such thing as too many exhibitors!!!! The more tables the more exhibitors and by default the better the buzz so to speak. I think you should CRAM them in like sardines!!!!

limits on space

The tables are already tightly packed. There also has to be space for visitors to walk between the tables.
If the show is as successful as Chris and the rest of us think it will be, then I would expect that we could move to a larger site next year. In the meantime we’ll do what we can with the space we have.
If you live in or near Austin and would like to attend the next Staple! meeting at Flightpath coffee house, we’d certainly like to hear your suggestions.

Hi “guest” – Just want you to know that the only restriction on the number of tables is the amount of space in the venue – the same thing is going to be true of ANY show you go to. Of course we want as many exhibitors as we can get and are happy to have the ones we do. The FACT is that they are going to be crammed in there as it is. If you’ll read my post above you’ll see that I’ve already said that there is just [i:962ca76533]no more room[/i:962ca76533]. The place only has about 45×50 feet of space that’s usable to set up tables and I’ve put as many in there as will go. I’m sorry if you wanted to exhibit and could not get one, you’ll just have to be a little quicker next time.

Hey… I was going to be sharing a table with Derrick Fish, but he won’t be able to make the trip.
So… anyone willing to help with the cost of the table, is more than welcomed to share a table with me.

Hey all!
If someone does have a half table available, I’d like to put in an early bid for it I just have two books to sell for Making Comics Studios so I don’t really need too much room.
Thanks!
Sean

Just got the e-mail about sharing table space.
If it will help the organizers of STAPLE I will share my table space. I will not be replying to any post here. I will let the organizer at STAPLE decide WHO gets what when and how. Unless there is a playmate attend nude.
I been there before, wanting to attend a convention only to learn later it was sold out. Be nice and think good thoughts

/> Noppie, I’m not going to do that. It’s up to you to pick your tablemate, or for someone else to convince you. I’m not taking responsibility for that, no way, no how.
I set up the system for people to use. The system is – register in time, or, failing that, hook up with someone on the message board. That’s as much facilitation as I can provide and it’s the responsibility of each individual to make what use of that they can.

well – it’s only been a day. perhaps in their despair they’ve been too depressed to check the board. I’ll remind them.

Found someone. Thanks![/b:3283f56c73]
Hi, all -
After being incredibly lucky to get a half table, I now don’t see anyway I can afford to use it (no money for production, for travel, yadda yadda). I am 90% sure I won’t be there. I didn’t make it last year, either, so I am not a happy little artist. Not happy at ALL.
If anyone is still looking for space, you can reply here or e me at klio at klio.net.
