I've got this crazy idea...
...to start a zine fest up here in Fort Worth.
Only, I’m not entirely sure how to go about doing it. I already have a place that says they’re willing to host it. 1919 Hemphill.
I don’t know what all goes into planning this kind of thing. I have a few people who say they’ll help me, so I’ve already got some backup so I’m not alone.
So, I’m just wondering…is there anything special I need to know about planning and scheduling something like this?

are you being a smarty-pants? don’t be a smarty pants!
basically you first need to determine what exactly your goals are for the event. who do you want participating and who do you want to attend? how will you contact these people? what do you want to have happen? how do you envision it? who is going to help you?
first get your goals figured out then you can move on to sussing out space, costs, etc. Finding a place to do it is a big important crucial step. So, well done on that front.

Pretty much. Start having meetings with your helpers to discuss what sort of event you want to have. Will it be a free event? Will there be activities/discussions? How will you promote it? When will it be? How long will it be?
It’s a good idea to attend another event as research. You can get ideas for what to do and what NOT to do by looking at another’s example.
