Whaddid you get?????

What did you get at Staple? I got so many cool books, I haven’t finished them yet.
New Reliant Press’s You Ain’t No Dancer
and
Fred Grisolm’s Hate Song
are the one’s I finished on the way back home, they were so friggin good!

How did I not see You Ain’t No Dancer? For that matter, how did I never find Barry Rodges?
Anyway, some of my favorite acquisitions are: an assload of books from the Global Hobo table, a hilarious doorknocker by Travis Nichols, those cute little ghosties from Playground Ghosts (I really wanted to take them all home with me—and the little wooden ghosts too!) and some Dave Sherrill mini-comics (it’s nice to read them on paper instead of burning my eyes out on the monitor).
I got lots more—spent more on comics than I had in a long time. In fact, I’m rolling around in them right now!

You missed You Ain’t No Dancer because it was next to Hate Song. Damn that Hate Song hoggin all the attention.
Barry was the guy with the short hair and long beard. We are going to start having art jams soon, you should come out to that and meet Barry.
I read through Colleen’s Super Tadpole book and cracked the hell up, she is a really talented writer.

I was glad to trade a STAPLE! DVD for one of Paige Braddock’s [i:048cf60135]Jane’s World[/i:048cf60135] books.
That said, I spent so much time running around taking pictures and checking in with folks that buying and trading pretty much slipped my mind. Paige and I had made the arrangement ahead of time. Exhibitors interested in trading their work for a STAPLE! DVD should contact me.

Uncle Staple also got very little in the way of swag – too busy, so sad
If you want to make him happy you can mail stuff to the registration address. pm me if you need it.

I was SOOOO pissed at myself that I ran out of books before I traded with you. (Well I mean I was happy to run out of books, but hot DAMN if I didn’t want one of those DVDs!)
Let me know where to send it and I’ll make you a little care package trade!
Dave- Woo! So glad you and Melissa liked the Tadpole book! It was so absurd and goofy that I wondered if it would be funny to anyone other than the 15 of us involved. It was ridiculously fun to make. I have to say your book was most definitely up there with my favorite swag. Annie (my radio co-host) also really dug it and was laughing at the "don’t spill meh coffee" punchline for like 20 minutes.

Cultural Void is freaking hilarious, I must say.
I was enjoying Tadpole at lunch today (not FOR lunch, mind you) and could definitely tell it must have been a hoot and a half to put together. You crazy Brooklyn kids are the funnest ever.
