How Many?
What is the average amount of comics/minicomics one would sell at a convention like this? I don’t want to print too many but I also don’t want too print too little.
Also, I plan to trade my minicomic with any and all exhibitors at STAPLE. If you want, you can see a sneak preview by clicking my website below.

don’t be whiny.
last year Nate Southard debuted his graphic novel Drive 0at the show and sold 30 copies – twice what sold at APE – at $10 a pop.

but if you don’t already have a huge fan base, you might want to keep the prints low. 15-20 copies are usually enough for a one day expo.

Last year, I sold 40 copies of my mini-comic (priced at $1). However, you should probably print some extra copies to give to friends and to use for barter. Of my comic books (priced at $3), I sold about 10 or so.

RE: Copies to bring
I’d say it depends on what you’ll be selling. You’re probably going to sell more minis than big books due to the economics of it all. Yeah, I ended up selling a lot last year, but I’m from Austin, so a lot of folks came who knew me. I’d say 10-20 copies of your minis. Probably shouldn’t bring more than that of any larger items you have, unless they feature zombies. Zombies sell much bigger right now.

 Haha. It wasn’t my intention. William Rodriguez is my hero.
Really, more to say, I underpriced my mini-comics at $1—half the cover price. And they sold [i:3a04a6a305]really[/i:3a04a6a305] well as a result. People come to Staple to buy stuff, so it’s a testimony to the indie-minded people of Austin.
See? There I am, on the left hand side! One dollar!

I’m all in favor of keeping the price low to get more comics in people’s hands.

Yeah, I’m with you on that. Low price and an even dollar amount. The idea with mini-comics, after all - well, generally speaking - is to get them in the hands of as many people as possible!

Wow, David, how old are you? 6 or 7? Did you do the Spiderman drawing too? Well, anyways, I like your artwork!

:D HaHa j/k! I know you’re that floating head in the background. Actually, I think your pricing advice is a great idea. I’m going to sell mine for a dollar, too.

I did about the same as Drew, about 40 books. The superhero comic Kwiddex and the horror book The Colony did the best, but I sold at least one of everything else, too. I did much better than last year.
