"There's a social syndrome where if you make these fictional characters and it's an ongoing story, people begin
to take them into their hearts and embrace them and now your role as a creator is: don't screw 'em up. You
know, it's like James Bond or Sherlock Holmes. We expect Arthur Conan Doyle not to come out with an issue where
Sherlock Holmes turns out to be a complete loser, you know, we have expectations. So at some point your
characters become bigger than you are."
