"It doesn't just take one thing. And what what I would say is: One, never give up, which you have to be adamant, and you have to ask this question: How bad do I want this? How bad do I want to do this? You know you have to ask yourself that question. When you can answer that and say, "Hey, I'm gonna do whatever it takes to get my book out," then that's what you need. And once you make that decision, now the hard work is gonna start, because now you have to be able to be open to criticism."
